The 1990s saw a massive effort by major labels to remaster their back catalogs using the original analog tapes. For Living Space , this meant digging into the Impulse! vaults. The mastering engineers in 1998 utilized "Super Bit Mapping" (SBM) and other 20-bit technologies to transfer the tape to digital.
