While 2012 was the era of WordPress and Tumblr, many remnants of Web 1.0 (GeoCities shut down in 2009, but mirrors exist) were still active. The Internet Archive has the "GeoCities Special Collection" from 2009, but for 2012, you are looking at the overlap of the "old web" and the "modern mobile web."
