As of today, Tableau (now under Salesforce) releases new versions on a regular schedule. However, enterprise environments rarely upgrade at the same pace. There is often a lag between a software release and an organization’s approval to upgrade. This creates a scenario where an analyst might be running a modern laptop but needs to connect to a Tableau Server running an older version.
There felt some definite nods to the Johnny Gosch story (and the accompanying documentary, which was excellent: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2704816/) for those who like to explore consipracy, and yet also worked as a film to 'enjoy' in its own right.
I say 'enjoy', because it really unsettled me. Maybe that's just me!
