If you misconfigure an IP address and lock yourself out, use Winbox’s (available in the Neighbors tab). It bypasses IP entirely.

Many network engineers are creatures of habit. They know the layout of version 2.2.18 intimately. They know where every menu item sits, the exact color coding of the interface, and the behavior of the drag-and-drop firewall rules. For these admins, upgrading to the newer v3 interface—which rearranged some menus and changed the visual styling—was seen as an unnecessary learning curve for a tool that already worked perfectly.
