Haddad: Hizb Nasr Imam

Imam al-Haddad authored over 20 works, including The Book of Assistance ( al-Risalah al-Mu‘awanah ) and The Lives of Man , which are taught in seminaries worldwide. His litanies—such as Ratib al-Haddad and Hizb al-Nasr —are not mere collections of divine names; they are spiritual prescriptions composed at specific times for specific ailments of the soul and the community.

Before discussing his writings, it is crucial to understand the man. Imam al-Haddad was born in Tarim, Yemen (in the Hadhramaut Valley). Despite being blind from a young age, he became one of the most influential scholars in the Ba 'Alawi tradition. Imam al-Haddad authored over 20 works, including The
