It serves as the bridge between your ISP’s fiber optic network and your local network. Typically, it features one GPON port, one GE (Gigabit Ethernet) LAN port, and sometimes VoIP capabilities depending on the specific sub-model (such as the F601V1, F601V3, etc.).
Downgrading can reintroduce known bugs (e.g., SIP ALG issues, memory leaks). Only do this as a last resort.
