Title: Need the HG8310M manual? Here’s where to find it + key settings (No more searching) Post: I spent way too long hunting for the official Huawei EchoLife HG8310M manual, so I’m putting everything in one place for the next person. TL;DR: Huawei hides these. Download the PDF below or use the quick reference. 📄 Official User Manual (PDF) Huawei doesn’t list it on their main consumer site, but you can find the HG8310M Product Description and Quick Start guides here:

Direct from Huawei Enterprise: Search for “HG8310M” on Huawei Enterprise Support (free account may be required). Third-party backup: A quick Google search for "HG8310M user manual filetype:pdf" will bring up copies on manualslib.com or manualmachine.com. echolife hg8310m manual

🔧 Quick Settings Reference (No manual needed) The HG8310M is a bridged ONU (no Wi-Fi, no routing – just fiber to Ethernet). Most settings are on the ONT side , not the device itself. | Feature | Details | |--------|---------| | Default IP | 192.168.100.1 | | Username | root (or admin on some firmware) | | Password | admin (or Huawei123 for older ISP units) | | Default LAN IP | 192.168.100.1/24 | | Management | Web GUI (HTTP) or Telnet (port 23) | 🚨 Common things the manual won’t tell you

It’s a bridge by default – You must connect a router to port 1 (LAN1) for Wi-Fi and DHCP. The HG8310M itself does not hand out IP addresses. LOID is your friend – Most ISPs use LOID (Logical ONU ID) for authentication. You’ll find this under Network > ONU Authentication in the web GUI. VLAN matters – If your ISP uses VLAN tagging, set it on your router’s WAN port , not on the HG8310M (unless you enable VLAN on the ONU under WAN config). Resetting to defaults: Hold the Reset pinhole for 10+ seconds. IP goes back to 192.168.100.1.

📡 Hardware at a glance (from the manual) The Huawei EchoLife HG8310M is a compact, high-performance

Ports: 1x GPON (SC/APC), 1x Gigabit Ethernet, 1x DC power, 1x Reset LEDs: Power (Green), PON (Green/Blinking), LOS (Red – fiber issue), LAN (Green) Power supply: 12V DC, 0.5A Dimensions: 115mm x 85mm x 24mm (tiny, wall-mountable)

❓ Can’t access 192.168.100.1? Your router may be using a different subnet. Temporarily set a static IP on your PC:

IP: 192.168.100.50 Mask: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.100.1 EchoLife HG8310M Datasheet | Hi-network

Then unplug your router, plug your PC directly into the HG8310M’s LAN port, and try again.

Bottom line: The HG8310M is a dumb bridge. The only time you really need the manual is for LOID setup or resetting the admin password. If you have a specific problem (e.g., “LOS red light” or “no internet after power outage”), drop a comment – I’ve debugged this little box more times than I’d like to admit. Anyone else have a different default password for their ISP-branded HG8310M? Let me know below.
