The tool constantly polls USB for device connection. When a powered-off MTK device is connected via USB (or a battery-inserted device with volume keys pressed), the boot ROM enumerates a USB VID/PID (usually 0x0e8d:0x2000 ). v5.1308 detects this and automatically begins the DA handshake.
