Not everyone wants the latest version (currently 1.49/1.50). Many popular mods (truck maps, sound packs, or physics overhauls) were never updated past 1.37. Furthermore, some players prefer the "feel" of the FMOD audio before later patches tweaked it. Hence, the demand for a legacy download remains high.
