The film opens not in a forest, but with a car accident. A young man named Eun-soo (played by Chun Jung-myung) is driving to visit his fiancée when he crashes into a tree. Disoriented and bleeding, he stumbles through a foggy, unnatural forest. He comes across a bizarrely picturesque cottage, painted in bright primary colors, surrounded by giant flowers and mushroom-shaped ornaments.
