Before singing a single swara from the PDF, spend 15 minutes singing Hindolam freely. Use the phrase S G M D N S’ repeatedly. Feel the weight of Ga and Dha.
Using the PDF notation, sing each swara exactly as written, at half or quarter speed. Extend the gamakas on Ga and Dha.
Once the fixed swaras from the PDF are mastered, use the same Pallavi line as a launchpad to create your own swara patterns. Start with simple patterns like S G S , | S G M G S , and gradually increase complexity.
