Unlike the glamorous depictions of Goa in mainstream Hindi cinema, Baga Beach (the movie) tells a gritty, realistic story. It focuses on the underbelly of tourism: the local fishermen who are losing their livelihoods, the migrant workers who sleep in the shacks, and the drug trade that lurks behind the trance music.
