The Kaibarta Purana is not an ancient Sanskrit Purana (like the Bhagavata Purana or Markandeya Purana ). Instead, it is a modern regional text, composed in the early 20th century (c. 1920s–1930s) in the Bengali language. It was written by , a poet and social reformer from present-day Bangladesh.
