Dismissed by some critics as a cash grab and ignored by others as a direct-to-DVD relic, Girls' Rules actually deserves a second look. Released on digital and Blu-ray in October 2020, this film represents a radical (and surprisingly relevant) shift in perspective. For the first time in the franchise’s 21-year history, the male gaze steps aside, and the female libido takes the wheel.
While it trades some of the "raunch-for-raunch's-sake" tropes for a slightly more polished, modern teen-movie feel, it doesn't shy away from the franchise's R-rated roots.
