Paranormal Activity 1 Fix -

The sound design, in fact, is the unsung hero of the film. The low, rumbling bass that plays before a supernatural event acts as a Pavlovian trigger for the audience. It signals that something is wrong in the environment before anything visual happens. This infrasound technique manipulates the viewer’s biological response, causing anxiety and unease even if they can’t consciously hear the noise.

This setup allowed Peli to utilize a technique that would become the film’s signature: the "stationary camera." Placed on a tripod in the couple’s bedroom, the camera captured them sleeping. The audience was forced to stare at a static image of a dark room, scanning the frame for movement. It was a test of patience that paid off in massive dividends of tension. paranormal activity 1
