To be fair, no release is perfect. Some early pressings of suffered from a slight “edge enhancement” issue. Jackson’s team used a soft focus lens for the heaven sequences, but the encoding algorithm in 2010 occasionally sharpened the edges unnaturally. Later pressings (look for the “Paramount Presents” line if possible) fixed this issue.
