This 12-minute docunography piece follows a single day in the life of a pipeline (a person who crosses the border daily for work). Using a split-screen technique—one side San Diego, the other Tijuana—it visualizes the psychological distance of a 45-minute crossing. No words are spoken for the first eight minutes. Only footsteps, turnstiles, and the hum of exhaust pipes.
A deep dive into Tijuana’s underground cumbia scene, this segment is pure energy. The camera is strapped to the chest of a dancer as he moves through a crowded toreo (a makeshift dance hall).
