While The Muppets (2011) was about looking back, Muppets Most Wanted is about moving forward. It embraces the anarchic, slightly cynical spirit of the original Muppet Show . It doesn’t shy away from being "weird"—Constantine is a genuinely funny villain who struggles to mimic Kermit’s "good guy" persona, often leading to hilarious misunderstandings with the oblivious Muppet troupe.

While “Man or Muppet” took the Oscar, the soundtrack for Muppets Most Wanted is arguably stronger from start to finish. Bret McKenzie (of Flight of the Conchords) returned as songwriter, and this time he leaned harder into pastiche and genre parody. Muppets Most Wanted
