The first act plays out like a satire of "slacktivism." The students celebrate their viral success—their protest works, making international news—without understanding the consequences. On the flight home, their private plane suffers engine failure and crashes deep in the jungle. When the survivors wake up, they are not rescued by loggers or police. Instead, they are captured by the very tribe they thought they were saving: the indigenous inhabitants of the jungle.
