Marcelino Pan Y Vino -2010-
Marcelino is a tiny, mischievous orphan raised by a monastery full of friars. Left alone one day, he wanders into the forbidden attic—and finds a life-sized crucifix. Mistaking the figure of Jesus for a kind friend, Marcelino begins sharing his daily bread with “the hungry man on the cross.” In return, he receives the greatest gift a child could imagine.
The friars are no longer just old men; they are given exaggerated personalities for comic relief. The cook, Fray Porra, is a bumbling grump, while Fray Papilla is sweet and maternal. This is a departure from the somber, realistic tone of the original. marcelino pan y vino -2010-
