Arena 5.1.4 — Resolume
At 11:52, it happened. The FFT analysis spiked—a feedback loop from the bassist’s amp. Arena’s BPM sync wobbled, misreading 124 BPM as 248. The main visual, a liquid oil slick of a city skyline, began strobing at double speed.
Modern Resolume (v7+) has the Layer Router. Version has the classic Advanced Output window. This is where you map your slices. Unlike version 4, 5.1.4 allowed you to create complex curved surfaces and edge blending without third-party plugins. The "Input Selection" system in 5.1.4 is straightforward: you route a specific layer or composition output to a slice. For permanent installations (museum kiosks, hotel lobbies), this interface is often preferred over the newer, more complex routers because it is less prone to accidental re-routing.
