6h11 Tolerance (720p 2024)

If a 6mm shaft will receive 25 microns of zinc plating or powder coating, a machinist might cut it to the low end of 6h11 (5.925mm). Post-coating, it lands exactly at 6.00mm. Using a tighter tolerance like h8 would result in a part that fails after finishing.

This means any manufactured shaft between 5.925 mm and 6.000 mm is considered within specification. Engineering Application and Fit 6h11 tolerance
