The Volkswagen Group’s 1.2 TSI engine (engine codes CBZB, CBZA, and others) is a marvel of modern downsizing. It delivers surprising power and excellent fuel economy. However, like many direct-injection systems, it has a notorious Achilles' heel:

Before starting the injector removal process, make sure you have the following tools:
Using a wrench or pliers, loosen the fuel line fittings and gently pull the fuel lines off the fuel injectors. Be prepared for potential fuel spills and make sure to have a rag handy to clean up any spills.
